My contacts at both Apple and Microsoft would only say Apple made fixes for O2011. The O2011 codebase is old, and building it required Microsoft to maintain old Macs with old versions of Xcode. O2011 may have relied on a deprecated function or API, there's dozens of framework modifications logged in the developer documentation for 10.13.
